Another pair of tenses:

PAST SIMPLE: I ate apples / I didn't eat apples / Did I eat apples?
SUBJECT + VERB IN PAST + COMPLEMENTS
Note: some verbs are IRREGULAR, just like "eat", check them! And with the past tenses we use the auxiliar "do" in its past form "did" or in its negative and past form "didn't".

PAST CONTINUOUS: I was eating apples / I wasn't eating apples / Was I eating apples?
SUBJECT + VERB TO BE IN PAST + VERB-ing + COMPLEMENTS

We use the PAST SIMPLE to talk about things that happened before the moment of speaking.
Example: when I say "I ate apples" I showing that this happened in the past, so now I'm not eating apples.

We use the PAST CONTINUOUS to talk about things that had a long duration in the past.

Example: when I say "I was having breakfast when the phone rang" I mean that I started to have breakfast and while I was having it, the phone started to ring.

WHEN: cuando, quand, quando...
WHILE: mientras, tout en/pendant que, mentre...

And now we're revising some verbal tenses:

PRESENT SIMPLE: I eat apples / I don't eat apples / Do you eat apples?
SUBJECT + (AUXILIAR) + VERB + COMPLEMENTS
Note: For the negative form of the PRESENT SIMPLE we use the auxiliar "do" in its negative form "don't" (for I, you, we, they) or "doesn't" (for he, she). The same thing happens with the question form, but instead of using the negative form, we use the positive (do, does) BEFORE the subject.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS: I am eating apples / I am not eating apples / Are you eating apples?
SUBJECT + VERB TO BE + VERB -ing + COMPLEMENTS

We use the PRESENT SIMPLE to talk about simple facts, wirhout giving any information about time.
Example: when I say "I eat apples" I am not saying WHEN I eat them, just that I eat them.

We use the PRESENT CONTINUOUS to talk about things that are happening in the moment you're talking.
Example: when I say "I am eating apples" I'm telling you that I'm eating apples RIGHT NOW.

IN THE QUESTION FORM OF ANY TENSE WE ALWAYS PLACE THE AUXILIAR BEFORE THE MAIN VERB!!
